Indira Priyadarshini School is the cherished dream of our founder Principal Late. Smt. Savithri S. Nair, who was ably supported by our founder secretary Sri. M.S. Nair. Both are educationists par excellence, who believed in imparting holistic education for all.

‘The school is the result of her hard work. We dedicate the following pages in her fond memories. we also take an oath here that we will work tirelessly to achieve the goals set by her.’

Sri M S Nair

Secretary's Desk

Time is the essence of which life is made up and what we put into it constitutes the basis of our success. On the completion of 44 years we look back to decade of difficulties as well as achievements. By working dedicatedly for the school we have endeavored to do some self-less service to Society. We have succeeded to an extent and this is reflected in the substantial and all round progress made by the school and the reputation for excellence and discipline that it has acquired in the locality as well as with the department. For parents and the public this is a good school because it produces good results. In our opinion our titles to distinction are a bit different.

  • We put in considerable effort for the character-formation of our children a concept fast disappearing from present-day Society
  • We have not so far denied admission to a single student on account of inability to pay, on the other hand we give financial aid to poor students.
  • We have a band of dedicated teachers led by an able and experienced Principal/Head-Mistress, for all of whom the School is their first commitment.
  • We have developed an atmosphere in which teachers enjoy great dignity and freedom.

The school has a good name but the name of the School is even greater. To uphold the one and honor the other constitutes our onerous agenda. Our finances are limited but our determination is great. It is the Mind and not Money that achieves. Hence we look forward to the future with optimism and courage.

Nair is the President of the Holy Cross Education Society.

Dear Parents,

IPS has a long and enduring legacy in education. The school, under the aegis of The Holy Cross Education Society, has made excellence in education a mission from its inception in 1975.

Over the last five years, we have been implementing a systematic program to transform the school. The upgrade to our building, laboratories and library is ongoing and will be complete by the time the school reopens for in person classes later this year. While currently affiliated to the Karnataka State Board, the school plans to also obtain accreditation from CBSE. The process is ongoing and will be completed shortly.
We have also greatly upgraded our curriculum. Our leadership and curriculum team have been working tirelessly to build an inquiry-based STEM-focused curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to stimulate students’ thinking and to broaden their horizons, and to build a global mindset while ensuring they are strongly rooted in Indian values. You will find more details about our curriculum in the Curriculum section of our website.
The past year has been a challenging one due to the pandemic that has disrupted lives and livelihoods and there is still no immediate end in sight to it. However, these global disasters reinforce the message that imparting sound education and a sense of responsibility to every student is the only way to prevent and combat such occurrences in the future. We are doing our very best to ensure that even with the classes moving online, we do not compromise on any key aspects of curriculum.
One of the key factors for student success is parental engagement. We are counting on you to actively support the students reading, PBL and physical activities at home. This support is even more important now, when students are learning from home.

Wishing you and your ward success in the coming year and in life!!

Message From The Principal’s Desk

“ Remember that a child is a gift from God, the richest of all blessings. Do not attempt to mold him in the image of yourself, your father/ mother, your brother/sister or neighbor. Each child is an individual and should be permitted to be himself.”

I am profoundly honored to be serving as the Principal of IPS.IPS is a 44-year-old institution. No less than 10,000 students have walked past the portals of this grand institution and are now responsible citizens of this country and some global as well.
“ Teach your child dignity is in hard work, whether it is performed with callused hands that shovel coal or skilled fingers that manipulate surgical instruments. Let him/ her know a useful life is a blessed one and a life of ease and pleasure- seeking is empty and meaningless.”
I am deeply conscious of how greatly a school experiences impacts our lives and influences our judgement. I therefore intend to make the experience of every student in the school worthy of lifelong remembrance. Schools are expected to impart basic and intermediate education to students, more importantly schools should bring out the best in each student. Schools should enable students to choose their path in life in order that they are both successful and happy. And this shall be my endeavor at all times as the principal of this institution. As India grows into a global economic giant, the children of the country are the ones who will power this growth. Students should therefore not only learn subjects but also inculcate skills especially soft skills. Communication skills are vital part of all-rounded personality. It will be my endeavor to balance curricular education with extra-curricular activities that foster soft skills. Teachers are the beating heart of the school their energy enthusiasm and commitment are what passes to students, providing an enabling environment for teachers to deliver their best will always be my priority.

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant patience, you will reap improvements.

We are a group of diverse experiences and outlooks, committed to excellence in preparing learners for enriched opportunities worldwide. In short, learning at IPS is a wholesome package of attitude, challenge and opportunity.

“Let us keep alive the child’s in born sense of wonder, let us arouse their curiosity to discover the mystery of the world we live in!”

As they do, the experiences simultaneously fuel emotional, social, intellectual, physical and ethical development! At IPS, we enjoy this journey with our children, reliving and rediscovering the magic of learning! We are aligned with the thoughts of Buddha.

‘Each morning, we are born again
What matters the most is whether we have given our best today’.
