Principal's Message

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Indira Priyadarshini School, a very warm welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

We are living in very challenging times. The pandemic that started last year greatly impacted schooling, with portions being reduced, and student interactions being greatly limited.  As we saw from the events over the last few months, the pandemic is still very much present in our midst, and if anything, even more dangerous. We, therefore, have to continue to exercise utmost vigilance and to not avoid any of the recommended vaccinations or practices.

Our teaching will, therefore, continue to be online, at least for the first half of the year. We have learnt from the teaching experience of last year and are much better prepared this year. We will be conducting our classes wholly using Microsoft Teams, and while portions will be reduced to limit screen exposure time, we have implemented a timetable and calendar that will ensure children do not lose out on critical knowledge.

We will also keep a vibrant activity calendar going through the year, so that even if unable to visit school, students are still able to participate in various arts and cultural activities.

The world is changing in many other ways. Progress in science and technology is happening at an unprecedent rate. In order to ensure our students are equipped to meet the challenges of this fast-paced world, we have made changes to our curriculum and our pedagogy.

From this year, we will use Oxford Advantage series as additional reference material, in order to support inquiry-based learning. We are also making the curriculum more STEM-focused (Science, Technology, Maths and Engineering) and you will accordingly see increased activities and assignments in these areas.

It is our commitment that we will do what is required to continuously improve your child’s learning experience. For a child’s education to be successful, there has to be a strong partnership between school and home. We, therefore, ask your help in supporting your child’s learning by ensuring the below:

  1. Your child attends online classes regularly and is well-prepared for each class
  2. Attends each session on time, and that there are no distractions during class
  3. Completes homework assignments and other activities assigned by the teacher
  4. Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

I am greatly honoured to be serving as the Principal of IPS. IPS is a 44-year-old institution and no less than 10,000 students have walked past the portals of this institution and are now responsible national and international citizens.

As an experienced and dedicated educator with more than two decades of experience, I am eager to create an institution that provides your child a transformational learning experience and sets them on the path of lifelong success.

I am confident that with our strong technology platform and dedicated faculty, and with the strong support of our students’ families, we will be able to provide a rewarding and successful academic year for each student. As we start this year, I pray to and seek blessings of the Goddess of Learning, Saraswathi, to guide my path.

I strongly encourage you to visit our school to meet with me to discuss any questions you may have, and to see for yourself the changes we are implementing in our School!
